Poster design for Matariki
Created by hand and in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
.
This was a collaboration between our design class and the communications class of the same year. We collaborated on a series of posters all with a Matariki background. What is visually represented below is in the year 1939, 3600 men went to war in the māori battalion and many of the Matariki celebrations were not as recognised. In the year 2000, Hastings, 500 people met to celebrate and possibly bring the resurgence of Matariki celebration as we know it today.
These numbers have all been created by hand with stamp, brush and ink. And digitised on Adobe suite.
An exhibition with all the posters created was had at Ramp Gallery at the WINTEC City Campus, at the time of Matariki.
